On 13 July 2018, a meeting with Nikolai Filimonov, Professor of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Editor-in-Chief of the theoretical and applied scientific and technical journal "Mekhatronika, Avtomatizatsiya, Upravlenie" (Mechatronics, Automation, Control) took place at the Institute Control Systems (ICS). Director of the Institute, Academician T.A. Aliev gave detailed information about the research work carried out at the ICS. The guest familiarized himself with the achievements of the Institute's employees, their patents, published monographs, articles published in influential magazines, the projects, instruments, devices proposed by the ICS and other materials. The principle of operation of the telemetric seismic stations for the recording of anomalous seismic processes and the principle of recording the parameters of the zones of earthquake attracted the guest's interest.

During the meeting, Prof. Nikolay Filimonov and Head of Laboratory 1.9 "Control, diagnostics and management system for oil extracting facilities" of ICS Assoc.Prof. Asif Rzayev, Doctor of Engineering, made presentations on "All-conquering mathematization and the polyhedral trend in modern control theory" and "Creating an intelligent online control system for oil production with the development and application of innovative technologies", respectively. Then an in-depth discussion and Q&A session with the participants of the meeting were held.
