The annual report of the institutes of the Physics, Mathematics and Engineering Department of ANAS for 2016 was presented at the Institute of Information Technologies on 23 December 2016. The acting academic secretary of the Department, Director of Institute of Physics, Corresponding Member of ANAS Nazim Mamedov opened the event with information on the agenda and pointed out that the meeting was devoted to the discussion of the current annual activity of the six institutes of the Physics, Mathematics and Engineering Department of ANAS.
Director of the Institute of Control Systems Acad. Telman Aliev presented the report on activity of the Institute, saying that 9 important scientific research works in 17 essential areas had been carried out with several significant scientific results in 2016. 2 theses for the degree of Doctor of Science and 6 PhD theses were defended during the reporting years.
According to T. Aliev, 359 research works by employees of the Institute were published in 2016; 3 out of 6 monographs and 132 out of 210 papers were published abroad – 20 of them in Thomson Reuters database and 23 in Scopus database, and 89 in other prestigious foreign journals.
After the discussion, annual reports of the institutions of the department were approved.
